Currently FOR SALE > thrown-altered Vessel Forms

These vessels are light weight, thin walled, organic and delicate. To make them I use a unique personal technique that I developed over many years.

I start at the potter’s wheel. I throw and turn simple forms. Then I stretch, tear, and reconstruct new forms. I work in an intuitive way, lightly sticking to an original idea, but allowing the clay to lead.
The surface textures records the making processes. When you look closely you can find throwing and turning marks, and joining marks that create line drawings. I highlight these lines and marks with washes of oxides and partially glaze the work after biscuit firing.
